In the last few episodes, Arnav’s vulnerability completely moved me and yesterday I could not stop the tears from flowing down my eyes.
One could see the pain in Arnav’s eyes not only because of the guilt that he was undergoing for what he said to Khushi but also because that is so not him.
Arnav is a man with a golden heart, but the flashes from his past gives us a hint that he is a bruised soul. Incidents from his past may have forced him to hide behind a mask, as he believes that portrayal of emotions is a sign of weakness. Under no circumstances will he allow the world to know the real him or play with his emotions.
However, Khushi Kumari Gupta from the very beginning had unknowingly stirred all these emotions in Arnav, which he thought he had buried over the years. How much ever he tried to remain unaffected by her presence, he had very little success in doing so. He hates Khushi not because she has wronged him but because she in some way or the other compels him to confront his inner self and triggers his conscience to acknowledge what is right and wrong.
On the face of it Arnav may be a strong, powerful, shrewd and a hardhearted man but deep down he is extremely vulnerable who is prone to all human instincts and emotions like any one of us and in Khushi’s presence they surface easily.
I strongly believe that one can fake to the world but not to oneself. Arnav in trying to do so is not only hurting all those around him but is “harming” himself. Probably he is one such person who is in dire need of a companion but he has completely isolated himself and become a "LONER." He is neither able to let go of things nor is he able to forgive himself easily. While apologizing to Khushi was the need of the hour, it also revealed the vulnerable side of him, which he was so desperately trying to hide.
Every time I see Arnav and the pain that he has been living with all these years, my heart bleeds for him. While he has locked himself within the darkness of his own beliefs and insecurities, Khushi could be the key to his heart and be the one to set him “FREE.”

ReplyDeletehere is what i also felt last night !!! Arnav has always had confrontational interactions with Khushi, even though they may have never intended it that way !!!
last night for the first time ... I saw how pain had bound them both together so much so that he forgot his own for a moment .. this man has the makings of a great lover who will only give once he has made up his mind !! why do i say that? Khushi telling him of her past didnt change his own past, but it made him forget his own!he felt the need to sat sorry since he felt sorry .. remember earlier when he had pushed her into a pool of mud, and she demanded a sorry he had just walked away? what changed this time around? i think it was the first time Arnav and Khushi actually connected! The moment to me atleast spoke volumes ... why was it no longer hard for him to say sorry? why did he say it thrice ?? his reflection later on, in front of his sister only proved while he was around her he was in a trance, a man who had no control over his emotions and senses!!!
yes he is a loner, but when he see's another person who is no better than him in every way live life another way, he is forced to wonder how that can be possible! its about time he breaks those shackles and embracing what he has in front of him ... needless to say- his life will give him more than just KHUSHI!
This apology was so heartfelt it rendered me not only speechless but helplessly damp eyed!!!

I can't wait to see more of this vulnerability displayed on screen as he continues falling more and more deeply for someone who has stirred his emotions so wickedly.

Swati - I really liked your write up. The episode yesterday was very good, and the actor emoted well...I know the character of ASR has been compared to Maan - but I think Arnav did well to carve a niche in people's hearts with the vulnerability he showed in yesterday's episode..

I am so glad that finally Barun has succeeded in carving a niche for ASR and not being compared to any characters anymore ....
I think that its the impact of his past and that impact is on me too, saying sorry is a really tough decision for people like me and Arnav!! but the right person comes and unlocks the heart easily!! once a person locks his/her heart, it never opens again easily!!

U're right, Arnav ne sirf abhi tak apne di ko sorry kaha tha because Anjali is his family. But for him Khushi is still an outsider now, & telling her sorry is a difficult task, because he never did tell anyone sorry before to an outsider. But Khushi is really becoming important for him, maybe he doesn't know it or maybe he knows it but ignores it. If he ignores her than he won't be able to do it for a long time.I hope Anjali sees this change in him & understands that this change is not because of Lavanya & her traditional style but because of khushi's simplicity & the way he looks at Khushi whenever she is in front I wonder how doesn't anyone guess & that also Anjali. Even when he was talking of Khushi in the dining table with Lavanya & all then also nobody understood that why was he stammering & talking about Khushi.Anjali should understand that he is in love because even Anjali has experienced it, & when anyone is in love with someone he or she talkes by stammering only if speaking about that person. Just waiting for Anjali to see this. Hope Arnav & Khushi too get to know that they love ach other. AShyam's face should be unfold, & I have heard that in the next maha episode the truth of Shyam will be exposed & many other things are also written about Akash's smaller brother, & maybe Arnav's father is alive, & Mohan kapoor of Kitani mohabbat Hai 2 will be roped to play his father. ReplyDeleteYa, & according to the source Dishank Arora who is currently playing Aayush in Sapno Se Bhare Naina will play Aakash's smaller brother. First of all, Naman Shaw was selected but still not finalized anything nor about Aakash smaller brother & Arnav's father, & i think Khushi's grandfather will come in the maha episode on 8th October, & maybe Arnav's past too comes out. But very difficult for so many things to fit in only 1 hour episode. Hope tis Shyam's truth is revealed. Pray Pray Pray, waiting for 8th October.

ReplyDeletei so liked reading dis write-up on Arnav Singh Raizada....from day 1 i feel ASR the character has sucha depth to it...its more dn jus arrogant..rude or egoistic....its much more dn dat..his emotions dat hv bn shoved by him in some corner of his heart only surface for his sister the most important person in his life..followed by khushi...in d recent apology scene which ws classic his apology came only aftr he cud feel her pain..empathize wid her....dt "sorry" hd lotsa more meaning to it aftr she told him abt her past n her family n frm emotional turmoil she hs bn goin thru...wen he heard dt.. he cud feel it...his eyes spoke volumes..dos moist eyes..lump in throat dat made him unable to utter a word..bt he did..i loved dt scene 1 of d finest eva..wen d person makes u realize the depth of the fault dn "sorry" is more dn jus a mere word its mr frm heart...
