Geet Hui Sabse Parayi: Rishta Wohi, FACE Nayi!!!

Finally we got to see the new Nayantara but with old intentions as usual. She is back from coma with a fool proof plan to destroy the Khurana’s, her whole & sole reason for existence. She is definitely going to make Dev’s life a living hell as she feels he has wronged her. Dev for sometime has to shift his focus & replace N with N, I mean Nandini with Nayantara. It’s going to be interesting to see how Dev protects his family & fails Nayantara’s vicious plans. As much as I missed Karishma Randhawa, I did like the new actor & her pairing with Samir.

“I wish you could look at me and see the person you once loved instead of the person you have grown to hate.” ~ MAGebhart

Maan had taught Geet how to live; he was the man she ever loved. She laughed & cried with him. He was her life, her reason for existence. But now that he has forgotten her, she is not sure how to forgo her memories of him.

Even though Geet had decided to go away but a part of her wished & hoped that her Maan would find her, tell her how much he loved & missed her, hold her tightly & never let go off her. Geet’s wishful thinking did come true as Maan came looking for her. One could see a sparkle in Geet’s eyes & her heart skipped a beat seeing Maan climb up the bus. This was the moment she had longed for, as she stood there staring at his beautiful face, trying to understand the change. Her Maan was finally there to take her back home.

Maan’s presence brought a smile to her face as she thought that her gloomy days had finally come to an end. But least did Geet know that her happiness was momentary & would soon fade away. Maan categorically tells Geet his reason for being there. He tells Geet that he needs her around for his Dadima’s well-being even though he cannot stand her still & neither accepts her as his wife. Geet was shattered at the fact that she had built castle in the air for those few seconds seeing Maan standing before her.

Maan’s words were like a sharp dagger that pierced through her heart & she bled. However, for Dadima’s sake Geet decides to go back with Maan as she knows that one has to give up a few of life’s battles to win the war & at the moment winning back her love is no less than a war.

We hope this phase of separation comes to an end & Maaneet soon gets back as Man & Wife as they are destined to be.

Is Pyar Ko Kya Naam doon: Marriage vs Live In !!!

I think the creatives have very smartly touched upon the issue of live in relationships adding a desi flavour to it obviously. The creatives themselves have tried to practise what they preach by showing they go half way to show us a controversial issue by adding a flavor of acceptance attached to it.

Arnavs represents today: over confident, rash, wanting to break free, caught up with family ties, not knowing what he wants and hence does the opposite of what is being told to him.

Dadi on the other hand represents- traditions, dogma, values and rigidity that has been passed down in the name of good upbringing.

so which one is right?

Shyam warns Arnav, he tells him, there is no harm is making a few sacrifices today to secure a future tomorrow.

Whereas Arnav a man believes in living for the moment. He is unsure of what his tomorrow holds for him. If something goes wrong he thinks he can use his clout and power to bend things his way.

Does one have to really get married to find social acceptance?

Shyam says, if its just a small ritual or an act that makes the world change the way one looks at a thing, why is Arnav still relunctant? does he believe at some level that marriage is a holy institution and he fears not honoring it? Does he feel, he is too big for the rules of the society? Or does he fear not being recognised in a crowd if he does what everyone else does?

Either ways it is Arnav's inner struggle to be a man who creates a place for himself such that he is invincible, and for now, he doesnt care its his own family, he wants to prove wrong! well, may be he doesnt, but his acts make it look that way.

Do share your views on what you think about this.

Devyani : A Woman of Substance!!!

Should we applaud for Devyani or tell  her to wake up and take a stand…???
The show is definitely on the most nerve wrecking track as Brahma’s advances towards Uttara gets reciprocated. The affair is on !!…and Devyani knows it!!…What surprises me is that women like Devyani still exists even today…A women who lives for others and not herself.

In a world where women are climbing the success ladder and making it big, we see Devyani, who only thinks of her family and  is the strongest person who ties all of them together.Devyani has not only hidden and kept the dark secret of her son Gaurav but has managed to create semblance in her turbulent life as she has a philanderer of a  husband who cant keep his hands off women..Even now, when she has been exposed to her husband’s dirtiest and degrading act, she is  shattered but not  broken. She refuses to bow down and let her family suffer because of this act of  infedilty. Any woman would have walked out of this marriage long back but  not Devyani. She is not only a wife …she is a mother, a daughter-in-law and a home maker…Her family is and will be her priority always..

Devyani , a woman of substance who not only conducts herself with dignity but also with integrity .Even when everything is working against her, she knows better not to respond with anger but respond with patience. She values her family highly. Devyani is beautifully portrayed by Indrani Haldar who has gone into the skin of the character..Bravo !! for making this role so believable and playing it with such grace..

So keep watching Maryada: lekin kab tak to see how Devyani takes hold of the burning situation…..

What is that we want?

Very often one is seen or heard cribbing about how one would love to watch more creative stuff on Television and as to why makers don't ever break away from the age old family dramas. Age old story lines with cliche plots and women with layers of make up and heavy jewelery for sure is not a trend that has been done away with on Indian TV. Even to this date, as you flip channels you would notice majority of shows bearing a similar look, feel and story. The only difference is the leads and that's obviously because you cant have one person doing the same thing in two different places.

I have been a TV watcher ever since i can remember and i have grown up loving the cliche's and accepting it to a large extent. To me i just know the mother to be the bechari if her husband is an alcoholic, the son automatically an intense man and the girl who walks into his life the bubbly sweet level headed know it all that sets it all right. I have had no problem with this arrangement as the predictability gives me a high and right guess work also ensures few moments of glory.

I know the title track will eventually be what i would hum, and the leads and their chemistry would give me sleepless nights, i know i would eventually out grow the show, but will still stick onto it since i cant get rid of the habit and i will argue endlessly with anyone who cares to abuse my show of the season! And all this while, i would still crib about why things cant be the way i want them to be !

I have tried talking to a couple of makers who like you and me would surely want to experiment with different stuff, but wouldnt since they know at the end of the day they are making what sells! So if this is what sells, then who are we? Are we the audience that wants to watch smarter stuff? Are we the audience that doesnt want cliches?  Have we not sneaked despite saying we have quit watching the show only wishing something may have changed? Are we the audience that think we are wasting our precious thirty minutes that lets us down? If we are, why are we still at it? Is it hope? Is it masochism? What is it?

Are we kidding when we can, we need a change?

Think about it!!

This is my story! And i guess I am okay with what i have, I would love change, but why world doesn't  change much without it. I would love to know what you feel!!

Parichay: Living life on your own terms!!!!!

Sameer Soni is back post Jassi Jaisi Koi Nahi to play a role of a fallen hero who gets a second chance in life. Sameer plays Kunal, a defeated and failed lawyer who gets a second chance to set  things right. Sameer  completely identifies with the character of Kunal as he lives life on his terms, which is very much like himself in real life.Kunal is not politically correct and so, may come across as rude and brash but he has a heart of gold. He does not believe in herd mentality and makes his own path. Sameer loved the character and opted for it instantly.

Producer Ekta Kapoor has also drawn inspiration from society and people living in it.Her aim with this show is rising above the failure and hope of living a better future.Kunal is a story of  such a man who has everthing going for him  but later ends up becoming the biggest disappointment in the eyes of his family and society. However life gives him a second chance to redeem himself.

So tune yourself to this heart warming story,  “Parichay” from Monday to Thursday at 9.30 pm on Colors

Friends are all i have: Sabiha

As a part of Friendship day we on our part got in touch with many people from the industry. One such as Sabiha, who happens to be of the very few lady Directors Telugu Television has. She has delivered some hit shows like Yuva and LOVE and is also a Nandi Award winner for her short film Tappu..

Today she is assisting Prakash Raj in a movie, which is going to be his Directorial Debut. Sabiha who we all know as "Chunia" lovingly, is a great delight to work with. She molds herself into whoever you want her to be, and that's one of the most important traits a Director needs to have.

Over to Chunia with her answers that will speak for themselves.

What importance does Friendship Day hold to your current track/ or in a show you are working on?

I wait for it all year.  Friends are all I have.

Being in the industry, who are the friends you can turn to and fall back on at anytime?

I love them all. No one has ever turned their back on me ever.

Alot is said and written about friendships in the industry being opportunistic and driven by selfish motives? What do you have to say about that?

These kinda people exist everywhere. Why single out the industry alone?

You are working, and you have a fixed life style, where obviously things get hectic, would you make an extra effort for your friends just because u dont get time otherwise?

YES...I even go to the extent of borrowing money to throw parties and meetings so that I get to spend time with my friends. :-)

What is the most overrated expectation from a friend according to you?

It’s okay when they do certain things, but the problem comes when I do the same.

Has friendship ever tied you down or obligated you, during work? If it has how would you deal with it? ( there is no need for personal experience if you dont want to share it)?

Yes, Lots and lots of times !!!  I am a very emotional person and I get carried away when someone is in pain. Someone misused my financial help and went on to spread rumors about it. Let me recall it. But it did teach me a lesson.

Pyar Dosti hai ya Dosti pyaar hai? which one holds true in your case?

I will always go for platonic friendship. If mixed with other relations you end up losing both. The things you can share with friends cant certainly be shared with “LOVE”.

There is no one particular day needed to celebrate friendship, but if there is one such friend to whom you have been wanting to say something, but haven’t been able to due to whatever reasons, you could use this as a platform!

No! Even if I did, I would be misunderstood like I always have been !
