Well, there is definitely an interesting twist in the tale, or they wouldnt have had one man pitted against so many women? In the very first episode Shakti was asked to pick 4 people he wanted eliminated, while he was seen being sweet and nice towards Shradha Sharma.

While the rest of the girls ganged up together and tried to get Nihita to share her equation with Charles, a moment or two with Laxmi, ensured empathy! Most people wanted Pooja Missra out of the house on the very first day ! We cant say the first episode was mind blowing, but yes, things surely are warming up at the Big Boss House!!!

Lets see what we have in store!!!

Kuch Toh Log Kahenge: First Day, First Feel!

Nostalgia. Emotions. Loads of them. That was the very first thing I felt as I watched Kuch Toh Log Kahenge  as it finally aired after a series of promos that depicted the love story of a slightly Dr. Ashutosh and young bubbly Dr. Nidhi Verma.

Ashutosh is standing outside a Bunglow, reminiscing his childhood and the days spent there. While you know he is holding back alot of emotions, the later part of the episode smoothly shifts to the Verma household where Nidhi, a young medical student all of us can relate to is shown praying to Hanuman ji. Nothing out of the box so far, yet a connect is established. You know their pasts perhaps are inter-locked and you know this will surely have a bearing on their future as well. As Nidhi, hopes she would not pass, as she is unsure of what future holds for her, you relate to her nervousness as well as the dilemma of taking up something that has lesser responsibility. It is a good mix of emotions. You see a strong contrast of what she wants to do and what she ends up doing. You also understand, she is trying to rebel, but eventually gives in. Her rapport with her family and friend who wants to be a designer, makes her more lovable and desirable as the episode progresses.

In strong contrast there is melancholy when ever Ashutosh appears on screen for whatever little time you get to see him. He has been deprived of a house he has grown up in, and he is driven to possess and own it, since he feels it rightfully belongs to him. He is a doctor by profession and a well established one at that. As his kaka, who has been with him through his ups and downs pleads him to sleep as its way past bed time, Ashutosh responds cynically "Raat Sabke muqaddar main hota hai .... neend sabke muqaddar main nahi ..!!" .... you get a peek into the restless soul inside him that has deprived him of his peace of mind and his nights sleep right then.

You also learn how Nidhi is living her mother's dream and she would always abide by her. She is a pampered child but she doesn't get to throw tantrums beyond a point. As she gets into the car, to take up her job as an intern, she reflects over what fate has in store for her. She is not just Nidhi an ordinary girl anymore, she is now Dr.Nidhi Verma, and she knows it is a huge responsiblity. Is she prepared to take it? Will she succeed? Slow self-esteem resides in all of us, but the reflection of the same makes the emotion relate able. Thats is what you feel when you watch Nidhi. You want to hug her and tell her, it will be fine, you can see it in her eyes! You know she will make it.

Once she has given into destiny, the mighty power that drives the universe begins to play its game right away. Their very first confrontation happens, in true TV soap style where their cars almost dash against one another. What was interesting to note was that the cars dont bang into one another but they stop just in time. They don't touch. While Nidhi is the spit fire, Ashutosh chooses to resolve it calmly and is apologetic.

The episode ends on a note that, tomorrow would be the day Nidhi discovers she has taken pungas with her boss! Their story has already begun without either of them realizing it.

The first episode had such a good feel, that time just flew while it was aired. The characters on the show seem to be well defined and distinct whether it is the father, the kaka or even the cook at home, who you know wants to do much more than what he is already doing. Some scenes shake you from within like the moment where Nidhi agrees to be a doctor when her father reminds her how it was her mother's dream.

For a first episode, there was alot that happened and the Story writer Kamlesh Pandey has made sure he has done justice to all the characters in terms of what they have to portray later in the story. When you watch the show, you get a feeling that you know all the characters already, but you still want to sit and watch it since the smooth execution is visually appealing as well as captivating. Kudos to Director Mandhar Devsthali for making an impact. Though the story carries the pressure and the expectations of a hit show, it still looks promising.

After having made a good start, we only hope the show continues to keep up its tempo in the coming episodes. Needless to say Kritika Kamra sans the nose ring and Monish Behl who has already played a doctor in Sanjeevani and Dill Mill Gaaye fit into their new roles with great ease! We warmly welcome yet another love story into the world of TV and wish them all the very best during its run!

Man and Music...a Soulful Bond!!!

Music is like food to a romantic soul. The melody not only adds beauty to your emotions, but the lyrics etch their way into your heart as though to strike a chord with the person inside you. Television shows have always had the concept of title songs, though we seldom get to hear them as the title credits roll.

Rangmunch.TV, had done a write up on title songs and how they are remembered even today, long after the shows have gone off air. Like we say the tune always plays in your mind and you fondly recollect and remember a story by its song that played at the start of the show.

Is Pyar Ko Kyaa Naam Doonon Star Plus is the story of a love-hate relationship between suave Arnav Singh Raizada and simpleton Khushi Kumari Gupta. On the face of it, one knows they would never possibly meet. However when a song like "Tu Hi Bata mere Maula" is played, and it talks of two diametrically opposite individuals, the reality of their relationship and the irony of fate sinks in more deeply and impactfully ... the song ends with a heart wrenching line, "mil paaye kabhi dono, kya teri isme hai raza" leaving the listener anticipating. If nothing, since the song seems to speak so much about their story, you do want to explore and discover the depths of their relationship and the course it would take.

So, if you are an avid watcher of this Show, you must have definitely heard the one line, Is Pyaar Ko Kyaa Naam Doon, before and after the commercials. Have you ever wondered what that line is all about. Today Rangmunch.TV brings you the lyrics of the beautiful number "Jo Pehle Hua na" if you haven't had a chance to hear it yet...

jo pehle hua naa, ab hone lagaa hai,

dil humko jagaa kar, kyun sone lagaa hai,
yeh ishq hai yaa kuch aur hai, ya bas khaali-khaali shor hai,
isko main kya kahun, tu hi bataa...tu hi bataa
Iss pyaar ko kyaa naam doon? Iss pyaar ko kya naam doon??

tujhko dekh kar, aankhein muskuraane lagti hain,
tujhko milkar dhadkane gungunaanein lagti hai,
aisa hota hai kyun, mujhko khabar nahi,
pehle kabhi hua aisa asar nahin,
jo mere dil ke paas hai, naye jaadu naye ehsaas,
aisey mein kya karun...kya karun, tu hi bataa,
Iss pyaar ko kyaa naam doon? Iss pyaar ko kya naam doon??

The song clearly depicts the state of mind of a man who has just fallen in love and the emotions he goes through just at the thought of his beloved. It reveals anxiety, hope, romance and turmoil that perhaps Arnav experiences at the thought of realising his feelings for Khushi. Does this mean their love story is to kick start soon and the fans are in for some amazing moments of togetherness?

For now, while you listen to the melodious number, we only hope we have some good times ahead of us on Is Pyaar Ko Kyaa Naam Doon!!

Like every girl, Kastur wishes that the biggest day of her life is as perfect as it can be. We had already mentioned earlier that the celebrations will have renowned TV personalities Mahi Vij and Jay Bhanushali , Karan Wahi and Mouni Roy and dance icons Dharmesh and Vrushali from Dance India Dance, performing at the sangeet & mehendi cermonies to up the glamour quotient which will culminate into a traditional Gujarati wedding ceremony. The Viewers will get to witness an hour long Special Sangeet Ceremony and shake a leg to some popular bollywood songs. We had also talked about a dance competition that will take place between Mohan and Kastur’s family, but that’s not all. There will also be a fashion show to decide who amongst them is the Superior side.

Speaking on the wedding festivities in Dharampatni, Saurabh Tewari, Head of Programming - Fiction at Imagine TV said, “The marriage between Mohan and Kastur is an integral part of this show. The concept of ‘Dharampatni’ is based on the vital role of a woman, in every man’s life; hence, this wedding is indicative of a turning point in both – Mohan and Kastur’s - life. We have also touched upon the fact that, in India, it is never a marriage of two people, but the unison of two families.”

Mohan and Kastur wed in traditional Gujarati rituals considering the fire as witness, Kastur legally becomes the ‘Dharampatni’ of Mohan. While the Families prepare for a weeklong celebration to bring in the joyous day, it would be interesting to watch what happens next. Would Mohan trust the holy matrimonial bond Or would Kastur’s life change for the better or worst is yet to be seen.

Watch the flamboyant Mohan and the grounded girl Kastur take the plunge into matrimony on Imagine TV’s  ‘Dharampatni’ Monday to Thursday at 9.30p.m.

Fida's Corner: His Wife, Mrs. Khurana!!! (Chapter 19)

Chapter 19

Days passed; the visit to Prashant’s site went well (by which he meant that he ensured that Geet didn’t spend too much time with Prashant Kelkar himself), and Khurana Construction continued to go from strength to strength, especially now that the owner and his wife were working together.

Their personal life was as complicated as ever.  It seemed that their relationship had turned into a constant game of push and pull; he pushed to try and get Geet to open up to him, she pulled back from discussion of anything personal between them.  A fortnight after the visit to the Kelkar site, he was as close to giving up as he would allow himself to be.

On the ten-week anniversary of his discharge home after his accident, all four members of the Khurana family enjoyed dinner together.  He had spent the day trying to find an opportunity to spend some time with his wife, but she had skilfully outmanoeuvred him.  During dinner, he saw Geet looking at him again and again, her gaze skittering away nervously every time she caught his eye.  For a few moments, he allowed himself to hope that perhaps, finally, she was willing to talk to him, but as soon as the meal was complete, she rushed away after muttering a barely audible excuse.  That left him to excuse himself and make his way to his study where he sat staring at a dark computer screen, mulling over the unholy mess that was his personal life.

There was one fact he couldn’t get away from, and it was the only reason he didn’t just give up and give in.  The fact was that he loved her; it had taken less than a week for his hibernating emotions to reawaken, less than a month for his heart to recognise what he had been trying to ignore, to recognise that Geet was his soulmate.  He now understood completely how he had ended up married to Geet in the first place; his need for her was so great, his soul-deep recognition of her so strong that he knew that even if she had been married to Dev (or for that matter to anyone else) when he met her the first time, even then they would still have ended up together.

Turning to the window, he smiled sardonically; it was fate’s revenge on him, he knew - he, who hadn’t believed in love, had been shown that there were some connections so strong that they made even love look like a childish emotion.

Two weeks ago, he had arrogantly assumed it was simply a question of making her love him again; the way she had reacted to him during the last fortnight had made it plain that it wasn’t going to be as easy as that.  Now there were some questions he couldn’t avoid asking himself; had he hurt Geet so deeply that she no longer felt that pull, that bond? Had her soul-bond been with the man he had been, rather than the man he was now?  Had her love died, were her actions and reactions simply a result of proximity and a need for comfort from a man who shared the body of the man she had once loved?

Hours passed, his thoughts going round and round in circles; he didn’t even realise he was sitting in absolute darkness until he heard the door to the study open; looking up, he saw his wife standing framed in the doorway, the light from the hall making her appear ethereally beautiful.  She was wearing one of his kurtas over a salwar, half-swamped by a garment so ridiculously outsized.

God, she confused him; did she even realise how many conflicting signals she was giving?  Wearing his clothes, coming to find him in the dead of night- if she wanted to push him away then why on earth was she here?  For a moment, he battled with the need to just give in, to just pull her close and lose himself in her body, to stop hoping that one day she’d let him touch her because they loved her, not just because she thought it was her duty.  After all, if that was all she was willing to give him, then perhaps it was time he started to make the best of whatever he could get.  The need coursing through him made his voice brusque, but he couldn’t stop himself from ensuring that she didn’t need him for something.

“Kya hua Geet, tum yahan kyun aayi ho?” “What’s wrong Geet, why are you here?”

“Mujhe kuch nahin hua, bas main jab jaagi to aap nahin the; maine ek ghanta to intezaar kiya magar jab aap phir bhi nahin aaye to main pareshaan hogayi, aap ko dekhne aagayi.  Aap kaam karrahe hain?  Kya humare projects mein koi problem hai?”
“Nothing’s wrong, it’s just that you weren’t there when I woke; I waited for an hour when you didn’t come to bed, I got worried and came looking for you.  Are you working?  Is there a problem with any of the projects?”

“Geet, main aajaoonga, tum so jaao.  Tumhein meri wajha se jaagne ki zaroorat nahin hai.” “Geet, I’ll be up, go to sleep.  You don’t have to wait up for me.”

She opened her mouth as if to say something, but a quick glance at his face must have convinced her that he wasn’t in the mood to listen.  After another brief moment of hesitation, she turned and went towards the stairs, leaving her husband watching her as she walked away.

Seeing her there, looking vulnerable, soft, warm, and desirable, had served only to emphasise his need for her.  He wanted to believe that she was subconsciously comforted by wearing his clothes (and what other reason could there be to wear one of his kurtas when she had perfectly good nightwear of her own), perhaps because somewhere inside her, the need for his touch, his scent, his presence was still burning bright.  Still, he couldn’t help but wonder if he was deluding himself because he so desperately wanted to believe she loved him.

More hours passed, hours spent analysing every moment he had spent with Geet, but at three o’clock in the morning, he was left with a pounding headache and no firm conclusion.  Realising how late it was, he was just closing the door to his study when his gaze fell on the picture on his desk; it was a picture taken on his wedding day.  They were standing together, looking at each other as if no one else in the world existed.

Later, he couldn’t remember how long he spent just looking at that picture, just drinking in the expression on her face.  All he knew was that in those still moments, standing with his eyes fixed on the way she had looked at him, he suddenly felt his heart settle and his headache vanish.  The absolute certainty that she still loved him washed over him like a wave, sweeping away all the questions and worries.  He knew it as well as he knew the sky was blue or that the earth was round.  She was hurt and terrified of letting him close again, but she still loved him.  A bond as strong as theirs, a bond strong enough to break through the concrete walls around his heart- that deep a bond could never die.  She still loved him, and all he had to do was show her that, show her that even though he wasn’t the man she remembered, he was still the man she loved.

He made his way to their room,  his plans percolating in his mind as he climbed the stairs.  He had been too subtle, too scared of rejection; he finally realised that he needed to simultaneously reassure her of the depth of his love and make her acknowledge to herself how much she needed him.  It was only once she accepted that he loved her that he would be able to convince her that he would always find his way back to her, always.

He walked into their room expecting to see her sleeping peacefully; instead he found her sitting in the dark, her eyes fixed on the door as if waiting for him to walk in.

Deciding that there was no time like the present to start his campaign, he took a deep breath then said “Kya mere baghair neend nahin aarahi thi?” “Couldn’t you sleep without me?”

He held his breath as he saw his words hit home, then prayed for some reaction.  After a brief moment, she blushed dark pink, and he breathed again.  He had hit on the truth, she really hadn’t been able to sleep without him.  After a tiny pause to let the message sink in, a moment where he could see her searching for a way to answer his comment, he said “I’m sorry Geet, maine khayal nahin kiya.  Aaj ke baad aisa nahin hoga, waise hi meri wajha se tumhari bahut neend kharab hui hai”  “I’m sorry Geet, I didn’t think.  It won’t happen again, you’ve already lost far too much sleep because of me”

Without giving her a chance to respond, he stood and walked towards her, then bent and cupped her face in his hands, pressing a gentle kiss to her forehead.  Before she could say a word, he walked into the bathroom, calling out to her as he stripped to get into the shower.

“Geet, ab main aagaya hoon, tum so jaao, aaj Saturday hai, Dadi ke saath tumhein bahut kuch karna hoga”.
“Geet, I’m here now, go to sleep.  It’s saturday today, I’m sure Dadi has lots planned for you”

As he stood under the stinging cold water, he smiled; now that he knew she loved him, he would never give up.  He would wait for Geet to acknowledge her love till the end of time if he had to, but he would never give up.
