News Bar: The Week Back and Forth...!

With Diwali celebrations finally ending, Rangmunch.TV brings to you a quick recap of your favourite shows during the week.

Geet Hui Sabse Parayi (Star One): Love can make you win Life’s greatest battles and Geet is one fortunate girl who is blessed with a husband like Maan who not only makes life so blissful but also gives her the strength to face life’s hurdles. However, Maan goes to London for a business deal, leaving behind his Geet with an unsaid promise that he would soon return to be back in her arms. As the new promo suggests the coming of the unknown, we only hope that Maaneet’s love once again withstands this test of time.

Bade Acche Lagte Hai (Sony): Ram unknowingly has started to make way into Priya’s heart with his humble nature and kind gestures. But where there is Ram, Ravan cannot be too far away. So this week we saw a new addition to the Ravan Association, Priya’s ex-boyfriend Ashwin. Whether Siddharth succeeds in using Ashwin to create a rift between Ram and Priya to settle his scores with Priya is something that viewers need to wait and watch!!

Iss Pyaar Ko Kya Naam Doon (Star Plus): While Khushi’s heart continues to say “Dhak Dhak Go” in Arnav’s presence, Arnav’s heart freezed the moment he heard about Khushi’s marriage. Anjali accidentally gifting Khushi the red colour saree for Diwali only goes to show that Destiny is playing its cards well to bond these two lovebirds. What’s needed is Khushi and Arnav realizing that the magnetic force that pulls them to each other is nothing but “Love” and give us audience the most awaited Eureka Moment! The pre-cap might be yet another hit and miss case between Shyaam and Khushi or the writers may pleasantly surprise us. So fingers crossed!

Phulwa (Colors): Never read the book by its cover. Phulwa is deceived by the only Man she dared to trust and love. Least did she know that Shatrugan whom she considered to be her confidante was none other than ACP Abhay and the son of her greatest enemy. Phulwa and her entire gang are devastated by this shocking revelation. However, Phulwa’s lawyer Roshni, has now come in as a “ray of hope.” Will she succeed in restoring Phulwa’s faith in humanity and get her justice is a later story, but for now, it is evident that Roshni is no longer going to allow ACP Abhay to manipulate Phulwa. It was nice to see Rakshanda Khan back on small screen essaying the role of Roshni.

Choti Bahu (Zee): God always makes one pay for his/her sins. While Barkha thinks that, she has eventually cracked the Radhika puzzle and has found out her real identity, least does she know that she is digging her own grave from where there would be no return. It’s really interesting the way “GOD” who is disguised as Radhika, ruins every move of Barkha and instigates her further to react.

Navya (Star Plus): Love ke liye saala kuch bhi karega! Yes this is Anant’s motto in life these days. Anant knowing the financial condition of Navya’s father decides to help him without his knowledge. So he cooks up a plan with Navya wherein he tries to portray irresponsible behaviour before his family and gives them the impression that he probably needs more time to understand the seriousness of marriage and indirectly compel them to postpone their wedding. While Anant and Navya have succeeded in their plans to a large extent, but the Friday’s episode ended at a cliffhanger where the audiences are still guessing if the marriage will happen as planned or will the Vajpayee family fall prey to Anant and Navya’s plan and unknowingly ease the pressure off Navya’s father who has also lost his job.

Kuch Toh Log Kahenge (Sony): While the rain unmasked Dr. Ashutosh, Nidhi was amazed to catch a glimpse of the real Man behind the mask. At that point in time he was no different from her. He too enjoyed the rains, his heart also craved for “adrak wali chai” after getting drenched. Nidhi realized that Dr. Ashutosh is not the man he portrays to be. She informs Dr. Ashutosh about her holiday trip abroad with her father for a month. Is Mr. Sukhani, her father’s partner, scheming against Nidhi’s father by taking his signatures on blank cheques? The pre-cap showed Dr. Ranganath informing Nidhi about Dr. Ashutosh’s illness. Will Nidhi’s heart permit her to leave without meeting Dr. Ashutosh? We hope Dr. Ashutosh reads Nidhi’s “Nainon ki Bhasha” way before Dr. Mallika does.

Hawan (Colors):  To keep the fire burning, one needs to add loads of ghee to it. In Hawan this week, we saw the entry of a new character called Keerat. Keerat is now doing the job of the much-required ghee, trying to create complication in Atharva and Aastha’s life. With the Badi Bahu already trying to mess things up, we now have a fauji who has already started to sow seeds of doubt in Atharva’s mind. The authority with which he announces his arrival leaves all baffled. The coming week will see the unveiling of Keerat’s true colours. Will Atharva manage to save his lady in distress without maligning Baapji’s name? Viewers will just have to wait patiently for Monday to come.

Geet: Entry of a Mystery Man?

A shadow of your past, or a new entrant into your future? A secret admirer or an obsessive stalker? As the fans of Geet-Hui Sabse Parayi sat up to catch the latest promo that shows Geet thinking of Maan, and remembering him while an unknown voice takes slow steady steps towards Geet, it leaves you with an eerie feeling that there is another storm brewing in the life of Maan and Geet's love story.

In a track earlier on the show, when Maan and Geet had just gotten married, someone had gifted the two a broken photo-frame creeping Geet out totally. Geet had also received a call from a certain someone who she didn't know of. Things however didnt take a shape back then as the couple got down to dealing with other issues of matrimony. So,is this someone we already know that we will see in new light, or is a new entry on the cards? From the looks of it, it looks more like the latter!

All of us know how protective Maan is of Geet, and in the current track Maan is shown to have been called for a meeting in London all of a sudden. Geet and Maan finally have succeeded in teaching their family members a lesson that fighting will get them no where and they need to peacefully co-habit! But now with Maan away, looks like, Geet's life is all set to take a different turn with someone totally besotted with her!!!

Rangmunch.TV will keep you posted on the developments, but for now enjoy this all new twist on Geet-Hui Sabse Parayi on StarOne.

Rangmunch's awww and hawww moments the week ...!!!

For all those of you that watched shows this week and went through certain emotions ... Rangmunch.TV brings in a segment where we give you a quick re-cap of the same ..

Water Crisis....

Ek Hazaro main meri behena hai this week has been all about cute moments and celebrations with Viren and Jeevika getting engaged, the families coming close, and with Manvi also accepting Viren as her Jeeju to be all seems hunky dory. A midst the Karvachauth celebrations, you finally see a twist in the tale! Viren is the one who ends up giving Manvi that life safer gulp of water!sigh! So says the promo! will it happen that way? Or wont it .. lets wait and watch ...

This comes out as the Haww moment of the week !!!

Silver lining in a Soap Packet...

While, Payal teases Khushi and asks her if she will ever find a man who will fulfill her stupid fantasies, you see later in the episode how Arnav silently slips two silver coins into a detergent packet, after Khushi buys 20 packs of Miss.Chamko Powder hoping to win a silver coin in one of them !!!

It was endearing to see Mr. Broody, melt, and finally turn Mr. Cheesy only for the sake of his lady love on Iss Pyaar Ko Kya Naam Doon!

This surely makes it the awwww moment of the week on Rangmunch!!

Sukir-Tee ya Tee...

After seeing Sukirti don a double role in Pyar ki yeh ek kahani on StarOne, as both Pia and Maithilee, this week we get to see the return of Maithilee in a new avtar ! For all those that thought, Maithlee and Tee are dead, this was a shock, considering, Tee reveals her self as Maithilee and also narrates the entire Abhayendra-Maithilee love story !!!

While Rangmunch went hawww after the moment, I am sure, most others did too ...!!!

Chatt pe Romance...

Telepathy, is their favorite mode of communication! Maan and Geet on Geet-Hui Sabse Parayi have proved it again! Since their entire family is at loggerheads, Maan and Geet barely get any time to spend with one another these days.. However, the lovers did manage to steal a few moments together on the terrace of their house, away from prying eyes where the two married lovers romance away under the dark sky adorned with stars !!!

Awwww... need we say more?

Cow!!! But how ????

After learning, she is married to a Halwai (sweet-shop owner), Sandhya looks at a cow, and realizes she is no different ... as she compares the sindoor to the tilak, her bangles to the anklets on the cow, and her mangalsutra to the cows neck piece she tries to set it free, but the cow doesn't budge and that reminds her of a conversation with her mother and feels bad at her fate! She so didn't ask for all this, we at Rangmunch dont disagree...

Hawww at Sandhya's imagination !!!!!

Damad ho toh aisa ...

Priya and Ram cant stop fighting and are constantly reminding one another they have been tied together by force. But this week, while Priya fasts for Ram during Karwa Chauth, in turn actually saving his life, Ram does his bit by standing up for Priya and her father by letting him know he will exercise all rights over him as a son-in-law who is like a son..!!

We say awwww for one last time before closing for this week!

I hope you guys enjoyed reading this Sunday piece! Rangmunch will be back next week with more such moments !!! Have a great Sunday !

Thanks A Lot Everyone: Nissar Parvez!

When you are a master at your art, and are loved for the same, it takes a lot of courage for one to take a risk and enter an arena that is untread. For Nissar Parvez, who has delivered hit shows like Dil Mill Gayye, Miley Jab Hum Tum, and Geet-Hui Sabse Parayi, it wouldn’t have been hard to don the mantle of a Director yet again in another project! But the man chose to think and act differently, just the way he does with all his shows!

When fans learnt of Nissar producing Iss Pyaar Ko Kya Naam Doon on StarPlus, they were rest assured, this was definitely going to be something to watch out for. Nissar chose to move out of his comfort zone, replaced the Director's cap with that of a Producer and decided to explore his fortunes with a new venture in a new role. Needless to say, the risk has paid off, with Iss Pyaar Ko Kya Naam Doon having successfully completed 100 episodes today and also reaching the No. 2 spot on Star Plus recently!

We congratulated Nissar over the double victory and here is what he said to the viewers...  "Hey everyone, this really wouldn't have been possible without the immense love that you as audience have shown towards our shows. You've have seen it, lived it, and loved it."

He  further went on to say "This one really feels special because scoring a century seemed very challenging keeping in mind the tough competition we had in front of us. Gul, Rajesh and I had to literally rack and put our brains together to bring the show out the way we had all visualized it. I must say, it has not been easy. Now as we look back, we gladly smile at all those maddeningly tedious days. We are now gearing up and looking forward to another century, because we hate to get out. We are all fighters and we love being that.”

“At this point, I would really want to mention a few names without whose support, this journey wouldn't have been possible.

Lata, Megha, Ajit, Anand, Pushpa, Shadaab, Kiran, Alok - These are the names of some of the people who silently work at the back end. To me they are the real heroes without whose support, you would not be watching this show on time each day.”

“Thanks a lot everyone. Keep watching.”

We at Rangmunch.TV, wish Nissar Parvez and his entire team Good Luck and hope they continue to entertain the viewers.

A Director is “The Navigator” of the Ship – Rahul Agarwal!

Here is a video where you can catch Rahul explaining a scene to Drashti and Ahwaan during a sequence.

Rangmunch.TV: What prompted you to choose the Media world as a profession?

Rahul: In school, I was always inclined towards extra-curricular activities like drama, elocution, debates, sports, origami, participating in dance competitions, that prompted me to explore my creative talent during my growing up years.

When watching movies, I always had this feeling that someone is watching the actors and keeping an eye on everything around like a secret detective. However, when I grew up, I realised that the secret detective was none other than a “camera.”

So I joined as an Apprentice Director Assistant in Mr. Anupam Kher’s company, and while learning the craft of film-making I realized the potential of the medium as the most expressive one. That’s how I chose media as my profession.

Rangmunch.TV: “A Director is like the Captain of a Ship”, your take on this statement.

Rahul: Being a part of the television industry, I will comment on this statement. Today a Director is divided into two parts, mainly a Creative Director who along with channel and writer brainstorms the story and screenplay, while the other is the Director (someone like Me) who convincingly shoots all of that and enhances the vision of the script. He conceives the characters, and keeps the flow of the story and scenes intact. So a Director is “The Navigator” of the Ship.

Rangmunch.TV: You work as a Freelancer. Have you ever thought of being associated with a Production House? If not, why?

Rahul: I haven’t been approached by any Production House to join them hahhaha! Indian markets don’t have this trend yet of hiring in-house Directors’. Also as a freelancer one has the freedom to choose one’s own project as per his will and time.

Rangmunch.TV: As a Director, what are those few criteria’s that you look into when taking up a new show?

Rahul: Well a couple of things. Firstly which Production House is producing it and which Channel will be airing it.
The creatives of the show are equally important and above all the content. It has to be challenging. If its an ongoing show, I weigh the pros and cons and see how I can enhance the show as a whole.

Rangmunch.TV: One show “then & now” which you would love to be a part of?

Rahul: Every now and then there comes a show which I as a director would have liked to do. I would have love to be a part of many shows in the past which Yash Raj Films had produced such as Khote Sikkay and Mahi Way. Currently I like the new show “Bade Acche Lagte Hain”.  After a long time I have seen a show with good content.

Rangmunch.TV: You have directed shows like Dahejj, Maayka, Bhaskar Bharti, Dil Mil Gaye & most recently Geet Hui Sabse Parayi? Which of these shows have given you the maximum creative satisfaction?

Rahul: I don’t want to sound cliché, but “I love all my shows.” Actually I have grown as a technician and as a person with all my shows. Each and every show has been different, and given me creative satisfaction as a Director. And its not just the show, its also the people working in them which makes each and every show special.

Rangmunch.TV: Does a strong script & good actors make a Director’s job easy?

Rahul: Yes and No .

Rangmunch.TV: Who do you idealise in the field of Direction?

Rahul: I don’t idealise any one per say. But I do have my personal favourites from yester years like Hrishikesh Mukherjee, Raj Kumar Santoshi, Mukul Anand. In the recent times I like Raj Kumar Hirani, Mani Ratnam, Rohit Shetty.

Rangmunch.TV: After Direction, Production is usually the next gradual progression. Will we see you produce a show in the near future?

Rahul: Why just produce a show, I would like to be known as a Filmmaker.

Rangmunch.TV: How important is it for you to feel connected to fans?

Rahul: Connecting to fans today is like seeing the audiences’ reaction during a play....Instant! So it makes the journey lot more exciting.

Rangmunch.TV: Describe “Rahul the Director” & “Rahul the person” in one word or sentence.

Rahul: Rahul the Director is always in search of Perfection, while Rahul the person- let that be personal.

Rangmunch.TV: If you were not a Director, then what would you be?

Rahul: Maybe a Doctor as my father wanted me to be, or Fashion Stylist and have my own label.

Rangmunch.TV: Your greatest accomplishment till date.

     Rahul: When I became a
    Director and saw my
    name being aired for  the
    1st time.

Rangmunch.TV: How soon can we see Rahul Agarwal back with his Creative Vision on small screen?

Rahul: Soon!

We at Rangmunch.TV, would like to Thank Rahul Agarwal for this candid interview.

Or will it bring down her confidence? Why does Nidhi get away with everything in front of Dr.Stoneheart, and why does his saying anything effect Nidhi so much? I, Me, Myself! – Samir Sharma

Rangmunch brings to you a heart to heart talk with Samir Sharma who has won millions of hearts with his endearing performance as Dev in a popular television show, ‘Geet Hui Sabse Parayi’ on StarOne. It is about time we knew Samir, the person.

Rangmunch.TV: One thing you are grateful for in life.

Samir Sharma: Life itself! (Smiles)

Rangmunch.TV: One thing that is missing in your life at this moment?

Samir Sharma: What I miss most right now is travel. I love to drive on highways and travel and see the world. Unfortunately, in this profession one doesn’t get to do that. But, we do travel when the show requires. Added to that, I would love to do a travel food show. I am a big foodie and dream of doing something on that line.

Rangmunch.TV: Is first impression always the last impression for you?

Samir Sharma: No, I always give a second chance to people. In this industry where you get to be with people 12-14 hrs a day, judging them will only make you end up with enemies.

Rangmunch.TV: Are you politically correct?

Samir Sharma: I am not political, and that is correct. (Laughs)

Rangmunch.TV: Do you take risks?

Samir Sharma: Yes, I do. The biggest risk I took was entering this industry. I was working in an advertising firm, and leaving that and coming here was a risk. Fortunately, that risk paid off.

Rangmunch.TV: What is your biggest fear?

Samir Sharma: My biggest fear is to go through life and not make any sense in it.

Rangmunch.TV: What do you think you need to change about yourself?

Samir Sharma: I am very lazy and need to get off my a**(sorry for using that word) but I really need to exercise and become more active. Well, I may look thin but am not fit. I need to change that.

Rangmunch.TV: Do you thank people enough?

Samir Sharma: Unfortunately, No. One needs to thank people enough.

Rangmunch.TV: So if you need to thank someone now, who would that be?

Samir Sharma: Really? How big is your web site and how many pages can you afford to fill with my thank you’s (has a hearty laugh) Well, most people don’t thank their parents enough. One should thank them for all the sacrifices and contribution they have done. So for me it’s the parents.

Rangmunch.TV: Do you look a lot into the mirror?

Samir Sharma: NOT AT ALL! Infact I’m one of the guys who even runs away from the make-up guy unless it is really needed and that too if it comes from the director.

Rangmunch.TV: Do you believe everything happens for a reason?

Samir Sharma: I don’t think I have seen enough life to either agree or refute that. I like to believe that things happen for a reason.

Rangmunch.TV: What are you proud of?

Samir Sharma: I am proud of the fact that I could defy the people who said that I shouldn’t join the industry. I came and made a place for myself and for that achievement, I am certainly proud.

Rangmunch.TV: Do you listen to your heart?

Samir Sharma: I try to most of the time. But, mind does come in the way and starts the confusion. One does not know whether it is the mind or the heart speaking.

Rangmunch.TV: Are you a Director’s Actor?

Samir Sharma: Depends. If I am sure of what I am doing then no, and if I am a bit confused about a certain shot then definitely I take Director’s cue.

Rangmunch.TV: Does too much negativity get to you and how do you cope with that?

Samir Sharma: Yes, negativity does get to me so to avoid I get away from the situation or if that does not work, I put on my head phone and listen to music.

Rangmunch.TV: What kind of music do you like to hear?

Samir Sharma: I listen to all kinds of music. Ranging from classical to western classical, bollywood, trance, and techno, I listen to all.

Rangmunch.TV: Do you read?

Samir Sharma: (Laughs) Ask my wife that. She has strictly told me to buy another house with bedrooms dedicated only to books.

Rangmunch.TV: What kind of books do you read?

Samir Sharma: Again all kinds, whichever piques my curiosity. My favourite genre is science fiction. Though I didn’t do much of science in school, I am currently enjoying reading on quantum physics - a book called “A short history of nearly everything”, wish someone had given me this book in school. This book has given me so much knowledge, it is amazing.

Rangmunch.TV: What is the one thing about Samir people don’t know?

Samir Sharma: If they don’t know, then it’s for a reason and I want to keep it that way. (Then brushing it off in a light manner he goes on to say) I am a big FOODIE and I love to cook.

Rangmunch.TV: If you have to describe Samir Sharma in one word or a sentence, what would that be?

Samir Sharma: Hmm…lets say 2 words…Acquired Taste.

Hope you all enjoyed reading this segment and knowing Samir a bit more than you already do. Isn't he fun to know? We certainly feel so.

Special Thanks to Mr. Samir Sharma from the entire team of Rangmunch.TV, for taking time out from his busy schedule and doing this interview for us.
