Serendipity ...A fortunate Meeting Which Turned Into A Lifetime Of Togetherness.

Mohabbat tu baarish hai, jisse chuune ki khwaish mein  hatheliyan toh gili  ho jati  hai,
magar haath hamesha khali  he rehtey hai .... yeh bheegi baarish ki yaadein hai, jo na hote huye bhi , hamesha saath rahengi.

Mansur Ali Khan Pataudi's death on 22nd September 2011, brought an end to a 42 year old enduring romance with his wife Sharmila Tagore Pataudi. It was not only marriage of cricket and cinema but also broke many stereotypes.

The romance and marriage of Mansur Ali Khan, Nawab of Pataudi, with Bollywood star Sharmila Tagore was the stuff that fairytales are made of, with happily-ever-after ending. This is  despite the lovers coming from very different backgrounds - he a blue blooded young royal who played cricket and she a film actress. Theirs was a cross religion, cross career marriage. Their marriage was not  expected to last , or thats what many thought. Sharmila converted becoming Ayesha Sultana. They proved millions wrong. It is said that both she and Tiger never promoted harmony. They believed in respecting each others space and gave one another lot of freedom for growing thoughts.

Many years down the line, when he was arrested for poaching, the actress stood by her husband like a rock. Death may have snatched away the most charismatic, powerful and endearing man from the woman, but like they say, in popular imagination-Pataudi and Sharmila will live on together for years and years.

A relationship like theirs has withstood all the tests of times and even though Death has parted them, their souls will continue to live and love each other forever.

We at Rangmunch.TV pay tribute to Mr. Pataudi and pray that his soul rest in peace.
